I wanted my first entry to be dedicated to the memory of our recently passed family dog, Cosmo.
Cosmo Kramer (he loved Seinfeld too) was gifted to me by my parents. He was a Golden Retriever/Labrador cross and he lived a long and happy life between Western Australia and Tasmania.
I will always remember the day Cos was delivered to our home along with his siblings for us to choose from.
There is nothing quite like the joy of having a handful of fat puppies let loose in your home, one of which you get to keep.
A few notes about things Cosmo loved: Car trips (at all costs even when not invited). Destroying new carpets with his ever-shedding blond coat. The “blue toy” which was lovingly licked for hours, as well as thrown around like a rag doll for many, many years. The “squeaky toy” which was eventually relieved of its squeak, thank god. Bodies of water of all kinds, beach walks especially. Putting two paws up for a pat and then working that third and fourth paw up until the chair was his. Sitting directly on ones foot, with or without protection of a shoe. Staring out the front window and farting in relaxation.
He loved us and we loved him very much.
I feel we chose the right dog.
